Chasing 289, Pakistan achieved the target in 48.2 overs, driven by Babar's unbeaten 115-ball ton, which matched Saeed Anwar's record for the most ODI hundreds for Pakistan in 107 fewer innings. Supporting knocks came from Fakhar Zaman (78) and Mohammad Rizwan (51*). Earlier, tight bowling from Haris Rauf (3-66) and Abrar Ahmed (3 wickets) restricted Sri Lanka, who were lifted by Janith Liyanage (54) and Wanindu Hasaranga (37*) to a total of 288/8. This win secured Pakistan's fourth consecutive bilateral ODI series victory over Sri Lanka since 2015.
