The left-handed opener stole the show with an unbeaten 96 off 54 balls, smashing five fours and nine sixes to anchor the innings after the early loss of Mohammad Naeem. Yasir Khan chipped in with 26, while skipper Muhammad Irfan Khan blasted 44 off just 21 balls, and Saad Masood’s late cameo of 19 from six deliveries lifted the Shaheens to 220 for four in 20 overs. Oman’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Muzahir Raza the most economical, conceding only 27 runs.
In reply, Oman faltered under the scoreboard pressure despite a spirited 57 off 28 balls from Zikria Islam and Muzahir’s unbeaten 46 off 24. Pakistan’s attack was spearheaded by Ubaid Shah (3-29), with Maaz adding two wickets to his tally and Saad Masood striking twice as Oman closed on 180 for nine.
With this emphatic win, the Shaheens opened their Group ‘B’ campaign strongly ahead of marquee clashes against India ‘A’ on 16 November and UAE on 18 November at the same venue.
