This victory marked Pakistan's 21st T20I win of the year, setting a new national record since 2006. The chase was built on a 46-run opening stand between Saim Ayub (36 off 33) and Sahibzada Farhan (23 off 22), with Captain Babar Azam anchoring the innings to the finish with an unbeaten 37 off 34 balls. Earlier, Sri Lanka collapsed dramatically from 98-2 to 114 all out, dismantled by Pakistan's spin trio—Mohammad Nawaz (3-17), Abrar Ahmed (2-18), and Saim Ayub (1-17)—who combined for 6-52. Pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi also impressed with 3-18. Player of the Match and Series, Mohammad Nawaz, led the collapse by dismissing Kusal Mendis (53), which triggered Sri Lanka's swift 9-30 downfall. Captain Babar Azam also set a new record for most catches by a Pakistan fielder in T20Is (60).
